We’re excited to officially announce the 2026 RUN FOR WESTSIDE SHEPHERDS 5K, returning in partnership with The McCourt Foundation and the Los Angeles Marathon and we would love for YOU to be part of it.

This annual charity run brings together animal lovers, advocates, runners, walkers, and supporters from across our community to make a real, lifesaving impact for German Shepherds in need.

WHEN: Saturday, March 7, 2026

WHERE: Dodger Stadium — 1000 Vin Scully Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012

WHY: Los Angeles continues to face a devastating shelter/rescue crisis, and German Shepherds are among the most at-risk breeds. Every year, Westside German Shepherd Rescue works tirelessly to save dogs from neglect, abuse, and euthanasia lists at high-kill shelters giving them a second chance at life and helping them find loving forever homes.

By joining Team Run for Westside Shepherds, you’re not just running or walking a 5K — you’re directly supporting rescue efforts, medical care, foster placement, and adoption programs that save lives every single day.

Fundraising Disclaimer: While the suggested fundraising goal per participant is $300 and we encourage everyone to aim for this amount, please note that your credit card will not be charged if you are unable to reach this goal.

We do kindly ask that each runner make a best effort to raise at least $44.50, which covers the registration fee that Westside German Shepherd Rescue has prepaid on behalf of each participant.

Can’t join us on race day? You can still make a difference.

If you’re unable to run or walk the 5K, you can still support Westside Shepherds by donating to a runner or team, or by volunteering your time. Every contribution, whether financial or hands-on, helps save lives.
